About the Role
SR3 is seeking an aspiring Electrical Engineer to serve and support a variety of energy markets with power delivery, substation and transmission upgrades, refurbishments, and new installations to join a tight-knit, fun, laid back, and focused technical team. The EE will work with the support and supervision of a senior engineer, often independently as part of the fully remote workforce. As a small business, adaptability and possessing multiple skill sets will set candidates apart.
Pay Scale: $67k-$95k (based on skills and experience)
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct electrical coordination studies and perform electrical design calculations
Design upgrades and refurbishments of existing instrumentation facilities
Create specifications for HV and LV electrical equipment (such as power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, MCCs, motors, and auxiliary systems)
Develop documentation (such as drawings, electrical basis of design, SOW, and reports)
Utilize and follow appropriate procedures, design guidelines, and design tools
Other duties, as identified
Available for domestic travel (up to 25%) to meet with SR3 team and clients
Requirements and Skills
3+ years electrical substation design experience in energy, power generation, power delivery, and power transmission utilities and/or related industries
Experience performing utility protection and control designs
Understand a variety of existing and new schemes
Proficient in control and wiring diagram retrofit designs
Performed transformer, motor, feeder protection calculations
Documented T&D substation design.
Familiar with industry codes and standards (NFPA/NEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, API, ISA)
Worked independently under minimal supervision of a Senior Engineer and also collaboratively with diverse teams
Demonstrated excellent technical and non-technical skills with remote and in-person teams (internal and external)
